art space
zeitraumexit is a space for art and performative practice in Mannheim. Our home base is in T6/18, but we are also constantly on the move with events in public spaces and in exciting vacant buildings. As a house of the independent scene, we occupy the spaces between genres and social fields. In addition to our focus on performances, exhibitions, installations, concerts and cross-genre thematic focuses, we have regular fixed event formats in our program. Our international Live-Art festival “Wunder der Prärie” takes place every two years.
zeitraumexit strictly rejects any form of discrimination and other misanthropic behavior and thinking.

Code of Conduct
Statement of Purpose
We are committed to create a space that is as open and as free from discrimination as possible. We see diversity and different perspectives as a strength. A respectful, welcoming, and safe(r) atmosphere is essential to hold space for diversity. We want to foster an environment that is sensitive to discrimination and welcome people regardless of their gender, age, origin, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or social background.
Shared Responsibility
As the host, we hold a particular responsibility to realize said environment. We therefore ask everyone involved, staff, artists, volunteers and guests, to contribute to constructive communication. Please focus criticism on specific actions and avoid generalizations. We see the festival as a space for dialogue and encourage everyone to actively use the open discourse formats provided to share different opinions or criticism. Keep in mind: signs and gestures can easily be misunderstood. Let’s talk to each other.
We also want to stress that marginalized groups are not responsible for educating those who are not affected. Please remember that not all forms of marginalization are visible.
The use of derogatory language, as well as any form of harassment, discrimination, or oppressive behavior will not be tolerated. Behavior that contradicts our understanding of a constructive and safe(r) space may result in exclusion from events.
Artistic Freedom
We are committed to protect and foster artistic freedom as a fundamental right, while also acknowledging our responsibility to make these spaces as safe as necessary. As a place for art and performative practice, engaging with boundaries is essential and needs to be constantly redefined. Here too, we strive to integrate safety, individual responsibility and freedom.
In individual consultations with the artists, we do not issue general “trigger warnings” for events. Due to the theme of the festival, events may be challenging in content and sensory perception. If you have particular sensitivities, please do not hesitate to contact us in advance via email or talk to a team member on site.
Questions & Awareness
Questions or concerns regarding this Code of Conduct can be sent to:
awareness@zeitraumexit.de. We treat all reports confidentially, as promptly as possible and with due care. At the same time, we want to make clear that our awareness work is still in development and that we currently cannot provide a professional awareness team at our festival sites. In case of need, please feel free to approach a member of our team directly. We will work together to find a solution.
