U need is love

In collaboration with Ensemble Divers, choreographer Doris Uhlich from Vienna explores the quality and dynamics of human relationships, the correlation between attraction and repulsion, closeness and distance, longing and contact. How can love be a call for fundamental acceptance and empathy for others beyond lines of conflict and differences?

The title is borrowed from the Beatles song ‘All you need is love’. We interpret this as a timeless promise of humanity and love. The phrase ‘Sei a Mensch’ (Be a human being by Marcel Reif) is a commitment to qualities such as compassion, charity, tolerance and helpfulness. It is also a reference to the fundamental equality of all people and the ‘inviolable’ dignity of every human being.
