Platzparade

Friedrich Stockmeier

Composition / As part of the parade on Thu Sept 25 and unexpectedly elsewhere

In Platzparade, four brass players and three percussionists take on the challenge of rubbing against the mobility, generated by the music in an anticipatory and contrapuntal manner.

Friedrich Stockmeier's composition was created for the festival and can be heard for the first time at the “unwritten archives” parade; it will be heard at other venues over the course of the festival.

Friedrich Stockmeier, born in Baden in 1988, grew up in Switzerland, California and Germany and studied composition and new media in Mannheim. He is an author and composer - writes poetry and drama as well as in intermedia contexts. He also creates works for installative, collaborative and performative settings. In doing so, he repeatedly gravitates towards aesthetic settings and formats that are close to various forms of theater. His compositions, theater music, multimedia installations and texts have been shown and performed by various theaters, galleries and festivals - for example at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the Landestheater Niederösterreich, the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, the Konzerthaus Berlin, the Theater Aachen, the Volksgarten Düsseldorf and the Lviv Art Center. He also appears on stage as a performer. He has been awarded numerous prizes and scholarships for his work. He was a finalist at the open mike and twice shortlisted for the Kleist Prize. In 2021 he was awarded a two-month residency at the Literary Colloquium Berlin.
