During WW I British and German soldiers ceased to fight in order to celebrate Christmas together, swapping presents from home, singing and dancing together. The installation shows historic pictures of opposing soldiers, making temporary peace and dance with one another. The images show a deeply humane side and leave a lasting impression of hope in war ridden times.
Kalle Aldis Laar is an author for radio plays and features, a music producer and media historian, among other things, and is studying history of science at the LMU Munich.
