Germany wants to “learn” from the warfare in Ukraine. Startups and venture capitalists are building capacity, particularly in the Munich area, to produce thousands of kamikaze drones per month, dreaming of an AI-controlled “drone wall” on NATO's eastern flank, and calling for a “disruptive” mindset in procurement as well. In fact, the rapid introduction of unmanned systems is currently shaping a new relationship between the economy, politics, the military, and our security.
The talks will be moderated and accompanied by the festival management, Sebastian Hirn and Johanna Baumgärtel.
Christoph Marischka is a political scientist and activist. He first encountered the topic of “drones” about fifteen years ago in his examination of the EU border regime and has since been investigating the geopolitical and technoscientific structures that shape and implement this technology.
